Forgings for tram wheels

Forgings for tram wheels

A forging is the material from which rims are made by machining. There are two basic profiles of this
component – the outer, which is the running component, and the inner (or assembly). The forging, as
the final product in the plastic shaping of metals, is an integral part of the rim – without which the
forged and rolled parts of a vehicle would not have the desired structure to run on the track.
Tram hoops – how do you achieve a perfectly balanced component?
Without the rim, the entire running structure of the machine would be disrupted – which is why it is so important to balance this component correctly in the machining process. An incorrectly made component can lead to the danger of derailment by the wheel leaving the rail track. A perfectly balanced component consists of:
transverse and horizontal loading,

  • outer and inner rolling surface,
  • attack point, – shape of the component – diameter, width, thickness and angle of inclination.
